People

Our aim

Our aim is to create a fair, inclusive and safe culture which enables our employees to thrive. We provide a workplace where they can continuously grow, openly contribute with their ideas and feel proud of their achievements.

We care about our employees

Offering fair working conditions

At dormakaba, we are committed to fostering a culture where individuals can be their authentic selves, share diverse perspectives, and drive better decision-making and innovation. We ensure that we treat employees fairly and with respect in accordance with our company values, and that we provide them with equal opportunities and fair remuneration. We want to offer careers instead of jobs and to prepare our employees for the fast-changing world. That's why we invest in the development of both our employees and business leaders.

Diversity, Equity & Inclusion

At dormakaba, we are proud of our diverse workforce of more than 15,000 employees worldwide. We recognize the positive impact that a diverse workforce has on the culture and success of our organization. We value the unique perspectives of each of our colleagues and strive to create a culture where everyone can be their authentic selves. Everybody deserves to be treated with openness and respect, no matter where they come from, what they believe, or whom they love.

The drive for equity is at the heart of the global sustainable development agenda, with its central ambition to "leave no one behind" and supports a number of the UN’s Sustainable Development Goals that we are committed to. Therefore, Diversity, Equity & Inclusion (DE&I) are important topics of the People Pillar within our Sustainability Framework. We take action to build a more diverse workforce and an inclusive culture, where no one is discriminated on any grounds, like gender, sexual orientation, religious or cultural background.

By 2027, we aim to strengthen the gender diversity of our leadership pipeline and increase the share of women in managerial roles to 33%. Since 2022 we have been signatories of the UN Women’s Empowerment Principles (WEPs), and we are implementing all seven principles to foster gender equality and women’s empowerment in the workplace.

Employee safety is a top priority

The physical and mental well-being of employees is a core responsibility of dormakaba. We strive to simultaneously create optimal working conditions for our employees and to ensure operational efficiencies.

Our Global Health & Safety Directive is key in maintaining a high standard of health and safety measures within our premises. The Directive is based on recognized management systems such as ISO 45001 and the ILO Guidelines on Occupational Health & Safety. It regulates the minimum business standards as regards the Occupational Health & Safety management and processes at local level, such as the safety of the working environments and the health of our employees, contractors and visitors within our facilities.

Training and Education

Employee development is vital to maintaining and improving the skills of our workforce and the quality of our offering. Therefore, we offer various training and development programs for our employees at all levels.
