Rümlang, 8 October 2025 – The German Design Council has been shaping the design landscape in Germany since 1953. Every year, the organization presents the ICONIC AWARD to recognize visionary architecture and innovative solutions. At the 2025 awards ceremony, dormakaba's Quantum Pixel+ electronic hotel lock was honored with the ICONIC AWARD.
The digital product solution increases convenience for hotel guests. Modern technologies such as NFC, RFID, Bluetooth® Low Energy, and digital wallets enable contactless access to guest rooms with special ID cards or smartphones. In addition, the Quantum Pixel+ fits elegantly into new and existing doors with its slim design. The smart lock electronics can be integrated directly into the door leaf, so only the flat round reader and the door handle are visible. Hotel management also benefits. The solution makes processes more transparent and simplifies access control by assigning access rights digitally.
