Product Sustainability Brochures
We have developed product sustainability brochures to help meet rising interest in Environmental Product Declarations (EPDs) as part of the tendering process. The EPD information can be highlighted in an one-pager factsheet for each product. These are compiled in our product sustainability brochures. By making things simple, we will be able to accelerate sustainable building business for our customers and pave the way to global sustainable development.
Transparency
Product Declarations
We offer customers Environmental and Health Product Declarations, which outline the product’s impact on the environment and any potential negative health effects. These declarations help customers meet requirements for green building certification systems, including LEED and the DGNB system. dormakaba has been a member of the US Green Building Council (USGBC) since 2007, of the DGNB since 2009, of the Singapore Green Building Council (SGBC) since 2022, of the Indian Green Building Council (IGBC) since 2024, and a Cornerstone Member of the International WELL Building Institute (IWBI) since 2025. As part of our commitment to contributing to greener buildings, we became members of the Institut Bauen und Umwelt e.V. (IBU) in 2010, which is our partner in verifying Environmental Product Declarations (EPDs).
Green building certification systems define construction product requirements, focusing on disclosure of the product’s impact on the environment as well as any potential negative health effects. Environmental product declarations (EPDs) and health product declarations (HPDs) have therefore become very important in the construction industry. View our products that are already certified.

An Environmental Product Declaration (EPD) is a widely used industry standard, developed in accordance with international standards ISO 14025, 14040, 14044, and the European Norm EN 15804. EPDs create transparency along the entire life cycle of a product. With an EPD, the environmental impacts at the product or product group level can be documented. As part of our commitment to contributing to greener buildings, we became members of the Institut Bauen und Umwelt e.V. (IBU) in 2010, which is our partner in creating EPDs. A Health Product Declaration (HPD) provides a detailed disclosure of the chemicals of particular concern that are present in the products and outlines the potential health hazards of materials. This standard offers a coherent reporting format, in which quality and availability of products and health information is assessed. HPDs are also recognized by LEED. Product Sustainability Certifications
By accelerating circular solutions, we aim to develop material-efficient, energy-efficient and safe products, that meet the needs of a sustainable built environment. Besides product declarations we are also focusing on securing sustainability certifications for our products to help our customers make even more sustainable decisions.
A recycled content certificate verifies that a product contains a certain amount of recycled materials. This type of certification is often used in the context of product sustainability, as using recycled materials can help reduce the demand for virgin resources and decrease the environmental impact of manufacturing. A recycled content certificate typically specifies the percentage of recycled materials used in the product.

An indoor air quality certificate verifies that a product meets certain standards for the emission of VOCs (volatile organic compounds). VOCs are chemicals that evaporate easily at room temperature and can have negative health and environmental effects. Such a certificate typically specifies the amount of VOCs emitted by a product, as well as any other relevant information about the product's compliance with VOC standards. VOC certificates are often required in order to prove that a product is safe and meets certain standards for VOC emissions.
The FSC®'s stated mission is to promote environmentally appropriate, socially beneficial, and economically viable management of the world's forests. It claims that forests managed to its standards offer benefits to both local and wider communities, and these are said to include cleaner air and water.
